Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of JGSEE and Manager of Hub Net Zero, attended the PMU-B Brainpower Congress 2024: Unlocking the Potential of Ignite Thailand held at Dusit Thani Hua Hin in Phetchaburi from 11 to 13 December 2024. The congress was organized by the Program Management Unit for Human Resources & Institutional Development, Research and Innovation (PMU-B).
Themed “Unlocking the Potential of Ignite Thailand,” the congress aimed to enhance the development of a high-skilled workforce and promote advanced research and innovation. The event brought together over 800 researchers and experts from 80 organizations, with Ms. Suchada Thaensap, Secretary to the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation presiding over the opening ceremony.
The congress showcased a range of activities, including keynote addresses, panel discussions featuring renowned experts, and poster and lecture sessions highlighting advancements in various research projects and initiatives. The topics spanned diverse fields, such as quantum and high energy physics, plasma science, soft power and creative content, AI technology, net zero strategies and climate change, biotechnology and future food, frontier research in health science and medicine, and earth-space technology aimed at for future innovations.
During the event, Dr. Nawadol presented the progress of three key projects involving Hub Net Zero to support Thailand’s net-zero emissions goals: 1) Development of High-skilled Workforce in Frontier Research for Carbon Neutrality, a joint project between King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi and the Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research; 2)
Development of Prototypes and Technologies for Converting Agricultural and Livestock Wastes to Green Hydrogen and High-value Products in Aviation Industries; and 3) Integration of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Related to Microalgae, Bacteria, and Plant Mutation Technologies with Efficient CO2 Capture and Utilization Technologies for Supporting Climate Adaptation and Mitigation in Agricultural Sector.
In addition, an exhibition was organized to introduce and promote awareness of net zero initiatives among participants, fostering future collaborative networks.
