JGSEE Hosts Visit by French Researchers to Explore Collaboration in Research and Human Resource Development

On 29 October 2026, the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) hosted a visit by three French researchers at KMUTT’s Bangkhuntien Campus. The visitors were Dr. Dorothée Laurenti and Dr. Mathieu Prevot from the Institute of Researches on Catalysis and Environment in Lyon (IRCELYON), and Dr. Olivier Proux from the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility.

The visit brought together researchers and faculty members from the National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), KMUTT’s Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute (PDTI), and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC).

The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to exchange information on their respective research interests, laboratory expertise, and ongoing projects, as well as explore opportunities for collaboration. Potential areas of cooperation included joint research projects and researcher exchanges to strengthen research networks and facilitate knowledge sharing between Thai and French institutions.

The program also included visits to JGSEE’s laboratories and PDTI’s Algal Biotechnology Laboratory. The French researchers had an opportunity to explore KMUTT’s algal cultivation demonstration systems, which feature a range of technologies and configurations, including outdoor raceway ponds and bioreactors.

The visit reflects KMUTT’s commitment to expanding international networks and fostering collaboration with leading global academic and research institutions. These partnerships also create opportunities to advance workforce development, research and innovation that support Thailand’s transition toward carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
