About Speaker:

Prof. Dr. Lene Lange is a founder and CEO of LL-BioEconomy, a research and advisory SME based in Denmark dedicated to improving the utilization of global bioresources. Her career spans both the private sector and academia. She held R&D roles at Novo, Novo Nordisk, and Novozymes A/S, culminating as Director of Research in Molecular Biotechnology at Novozymes R&D. In 2007, she transitioned to academia, holding leadership roles such as Head of the Institute of Biology at the University of Copenhagen, Dean of Research and Professor in Biotechnology at Aalborg University, and Professor and Research Leader at the Technical University of Denmark. Over the past 25 years, she has chaired and served on advisory research committees and science councils across all seven Danish ministries and various international organizations, notably the Vice Chair of the Scientific Committee of the EU Bio-Based Industries Joint Undertaking (BBI JU), Board Chair of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), and Program Chair of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Her company, LL-BioEconomy, is a research partner in several bioeconomy-relevant project consortia at the Danish, Nordic, European, and international levels.
