Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana Appointed President of the Thai Academy of Science and Technology

Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) at KMUTT and Manager of Hub Net Zero, has been appointed President of the Thai Academy of Science and Technology (TAST). The announcement was made during the TAST General Assembly held on 20 November 2025 at the Chatrium Hotel Riverside Bangkok.

Established in 1997, the Thai Academy of Science and Technology was founded by a group of distinguished scientists and technologists whose work has made significant contributions to national development. As an independent, non-government organization, TAST provides objective, evidence-based recommendations to government agencies, public organizations, and society at large. The Academy is also committed to advancing scientific knowledge and public awareness through outreach, academic engagement, and communication activities.

In his remarks, Prof. Navadol expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him and reflected on his long association with the Academy, having served as a member since 2006. Over nearly two decades, he has witnessed TAST’s tangible contributions to policy development, national planning, and the strengthening of scientific literacy. He emphasized the importance of the Academy’s mission in guiding Thailand toward innovation-driven and sustainable development.

Prof. Navadol also extended his appreciation to past presidents and advisors, including Prof. Dr. Yodhathai Thebtaranonth, Prof. Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sakarindr Bhumiratana, Dr. Kanyawim Kirtikara, and Prof. Dr. Morakot Tanticharoen, for their leadership and dedication in building a strong institutional foundation.

As he assumes this new role, Prof. Navadol’s concurrent leadership at Hub Net Zero is expected to further enhance the alignment between national policy, scientific research, and Thailand’s pursuit of sustainability and low-carbon growth.
