On 26 August 2026, Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among 13 organizations from the government, academic, and industrial sectors to establish the Hub of Talents for Nuclear Energy Technology (HOTNET). Led by the Thailand Institute of Nuclear Technology (TINT), with financial support from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), the initiative aims to strengthen Thailand’s capabilities in nuclear energy technology and workforce development.
In his address, Prof. Yodchanan emphasized the critical role of nuclear energy technology in Thailand’s energy transition and highlighted workforce development as a key foundation for preparing the talent needed to advance nuclear and other emerging technologies. He also underscored the importance of connecting government, academia, research institutions, and the private sector to accelerate knowledge sharing, research and technology development, and commercialization.
HOTNET brings together 13 leading organizations to build a stronger national ecosystem for nuclear energy technology:

The initiative will focus on establishing a national database of nuclear energy experts, developing human resources, promoting technology transfer, and strengthening collaboration with international organizations. These efforts will help strengthen Thailand’s readiness for Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology deployment while supporting the country’s transition toward a cleaner and more secure energy system.
Representing KMUTT at the signing ceremony was Prof. Dr. Navadol Laosiripojana, Director of the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) at KMUTT and Manager of Hub Net Zero. JGSEE will coordinate the participation of KMUTT in HOTNET, contributing the university’s expertise in energy, research, and workforce development. The collaboration also complements the work of Hub Net Zero which aims to strengthen Thailand’s talent and knowledge ecosystem for the transition to net-zero GHG emissions.
