Experts from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) served as instructors in the Clean Energy Transition for Leadership Program 2026, held on 8–9 October 2026. Organized by Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited (CPF) in collaboration with the CPF Training Center, the program aimed to equip CPF’s engineering and technology executives with knowledge of emerging clean energy technologies to support the company’s clean energy transition and its Net-Zero 2050 target.
Organized around three key areas—clean heat, small modular reactors (SMRs), and green hydrogen—the workshop explored technology options and system integration opportunities relevant to industrial decarbonization.
The Clean Heat module focused on heat demand and decarbonization opportunities in the food and beverage industry, covering temperature requirements and electrification potential. Participants explored clean heat solutions including heat pumps, electric boilers, solar thermal, biomass combined heat and power (CHP), and hydrogen combustion, as well as thermal energy storage technologies.
The SMR module introduced nuclear fission fundamentals and different reactor and fuel types, with discussion of non-electric applications of nuclear energy, including high-temperature heat generation, hydrogen production and desalination.
The Green Hydrogen module covered the hydrogen economy, market outlook, policy drivers, electrolysis technologies, and hydrogen storage and transport. Participants also explored applications including fuel cells, green iron, Power-to-X, and renewable energy integration, complemented by case studies on hydrogen applications in farms and the food industry.
The training concluded with a session in which participants applied the knowledge gained throughout the workshop to explore how emerging clean energy technologies could inform CPF’s future energy and net-zero direction.
The KMUTT instructors were Dr. Preecha Aregarot, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pipat Chaiwiwatworakul, Asst. Prof. Piyatida Trinuruk Kaewchinda, and Asst. Prof. Nutthapon Wongyao.
By connecting academic expertise with industrial needs, KMUTT supports industry leaders in exploring clean energy solutions and integrating low-carbon technologies into their long-term strategies.
