Renewable Energy Asia Conference 2026 Advances Regional Partnerships for Sustainable Energy Innovation

The 22nd Renewable Energy Asia Conference 2026 was held on 1 July 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok, as part of ASIA Sustainable Energy Week (ASEW) 2026. Held under the theme “Driving Sustainable Energy Innovation through Regional Partnerships,” the conference brought together policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, innovators, and practitioners from across the region to exchange knowledge and strengthen collaboration in advancing Asia’s transition toward a sustainable and low-carbon energy future. Hub Net Zero participated in the conference as one of the organizing partners.

The conference was jointly organized by the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), and Informa Markets, with collaboration from the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) and the Asia Pacific Urban Energy Association (APUEA).

The conference highlighted the importance of cross-sector and cross-border collaboration in advancing clean energy technologies, supporting industrial decarbonization, and strengthening regional energy resilience. Throughout the day, participants explored how technological innovation, policy development, and regional cooperation can work together to accelerate the energy transition across ASEAN and beyond.

The conference featured a plenary session focusing on regional strategies for achieving a resilient, secure, and low-carbon energy system. Presentations included “Pathways to Liquid Fuels without Using Crude Oil: The Role of Nuclear Heat and Hydrogen” by Dr. Wison Luangdilok, Principal of H2Technology LLC, USA; and “How Regional Platforms and Partnerships Can Accelerate and Align Decarbonization Pathways Across ASEAN” by Dr. Weerawat Chantanakome, Senior Policy Counsel of Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA).

In addition to the plenary session, four technical sessions provided in-depth discussions on emerging technologies and policy solutions that are shaping the future of sustainable energy. Topics included small modular reactors (SMRs), clean heat, green hydrogen, and the clean electricity transition; industrial decarbonization and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS); Bio-LNG, green ammonia, green carbon, and green fuels; and green buildings, sustainable design, and materials innovation.

The conference highlighted the vital role of regional collaboration in advancing sustainable energy innovation and accelerating the clean energy transition. Hub Net Zero remains committed to working with partners across sectors to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen regional cooperation in support of a resilient, low-carbon future.
